Water: Clear
Water Level: Low
Water vis: 3ft

The weather definitely made for some interesting Fishing today. I'm use to winter Fishing. But the constant high burst and Howling wind made things interesting. Especially considering my 1/16oz Light jig set up with 4lb test. I had to whip that baby through.

Upon arrival, already eager and excited to Fish. I have the privilege of meeting Wetwader and BP of Windycityfishing.com Chicago Lands Premier Fishing Forum. Chatting with both realizing I've ran into some more great CPR Fisherman enjoying the sport Just as I. Much Love.  Brian was even so kind to toss me two Jigs Created by Jaypeethehhf and Ryan Whitacre of TIGHTROPEFISHING. These jigs look impressively well crafted. Kudos to two Great Chicago Anglers that are breaking new Barriers.

I start out Fishing my 4lb test spinning combo with a 1/32oz Crappie Jig. Almost instantly realizing most fish were off the shallows and sitting in the center of the pool. All bunched together. From previous outings where the Fish were more Active there would be many smaller ones in inches of water. Nothing of the sights today. ( I know this sounds crazy for Late January, Keep in mind this is a wwd Area)

GEO displaying a Winter WWD Bass

After several attempts at switching locations and getting different casting angles on what Fish I could see. I eventually had the location to myself as everyone had said farewells and parted ways. I then threw on my Face mask before moving again to prolong my outing as long as I can, I already cant bare to wear gloves as I get my mojo all "tangled" up ;) Eventually using a 1/16oz Jighead and a orange and Brown Crappie Tube Just out my sight.. My Line gets Tight. And I wham bam thankyou Mam that Bass straight into my Hands. As quick as possible I flashed him. And Released the beauty ensuring preservation of our future generations enjoyment.

The sun getting Higher as the day progressed, I feel made the Fishing better. The wind shifty all outing. With consistent gust. Best described as Brutal. At one point a "Group" of Fish rolled in to my surprise. A Musky within the 31" Range. Two Walleye both 16-19" one chunker. A Common carp a few common suckers as well as some crappie. As I was In awe I darted every which way attempting to get the Walleye to bite. These fish were remarkable.. So clever and so elusive. As one darted into the "Tunnels" the other amongst the channel. I set my Eyes on the SKi, As he wasn't interested in my offering he also wasnt to line shy either. Easily I could have snagged this Fish, and possibly should have to have taught him a lesson :) But I decided to just observe the beauty and stick with good karma from my "Fish" Gods. As I always do.

Big Bass of the Day Came in the "Tunnel" where I had previously seen two clever walleye elude me.

GEO with a BEAUTIFUL WWD B. Crappie

Eventually in the moment of admiring the beauty of the Beast I glance down from me, And had to take a second glance. A "Slab" Black Crappie. Especially for this area. I toss down my 1/32oz Orange and brown crappie tube and watch as the Crappie instantly takes interest in my offering. I twitch it above him while slowly bring him further and further up, As he gets under to strike I drop it. And he gulped.. But was a tad slow. And completely missed my Jig. Because i didn't slam back and set my hook I still haven't spooked him. And gradually brought it up again in front of him twitching it slowy. As he slowly approached it I kept in place as he flared his gills and inhaled my Jig. Just as I Whaled back for a nice Fight!

Third Bass of a brutally Cold Day.

Most important thing. I had a lot of FUN :)

HAPPY FISHING
